Pregnancy Pilates

Keep Active! Joining in with a Pregnancy Exercise Class at NYStudio can help make this special time an empowering journey, both physically and mentally. It is great for talking with other expecting Mums to help make the whole experience of pregnancy wonderfully positive.

Our Pilates Exercises can be modified for individuals who are under physiotherapy care for back, hip or pelvis discomfort; exercise content is underpinned by the NICE guideline standards, to ensure safe, quality teaching for you and your bump.

Pilates is the perfect low-impact pregnancy workout – the main benefit is that it targets the exact muscles and functions that can be a problem during pregnancy and after birth, in a safe way.

Transferable Exercises for you to use in your own workouts at home

Challenging classes; we incorporate a range of small equipment such as balls, bands and toning circles to keep you thinking! If you are wanting to purchase your own birthing ball to use at home, please take a read of our size guidance

Medical Consent

You will need to have medical consent to exercise during your pregnancy. This is for our insurance providers- so please just give your GP a call, or ask your midwife at your next appointment.

You might prefer to book an Individual Session before joining in a group. This can be arranged by contacting NY Studio. Individual Sessions provide you with the skill set required to feel confident about entering a group setting.

Please follow the guidance of your medical practitioners for advice if you are concerned.

Whatever you decide, please be careful. If an exercise teacher hasn’t undertaken appropriate pre-natal training, they may not be following the NICE care guidelines, and it is unlikely they are insured to have you in their class.
