I already attend NYStudio but have recently become pregnant- what should I do?
Congratulations! It is perfectly safe for you to continue exercising with us, but it is helpful if you let us know!! Your blood pressure might lower (feel dizzy) and some exercises may feel unusually strenuous – we can help you modify exercises to allow for the changes taking place.
Once you become 15 weeks pregnant, it is more appropriate that you attend our specific Pregnancy Exercise Class, however your regular class can be modified if you prefer.
If you are a new mum and have not attended NYStudio prior to your pregnancy, you will need to join our Pregnancy Exercise Class. This class is recommended during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Pilates is not endorsed before 14 weeks, unless you are continuing Pilates with a teacher who already knows your body. This is due to the demand and stress of hormonal changes on the body during the first trimester.
